Civil War Dress and Undress, a
program with Sue Walters
A general overview of the fashions of the times from the skin
up! Ladies underpinnings, crinolines, corsets, underskirts, overskirts,
hair, accessories, and all fashionable clothing will be discussed and
examined. presented in conjunction with the May 17-18 Civil War
Encampment.

The Civil War comes to Clinton County!
Civil War Encampment.
CCHA, the 11th N.Y. Battery Light Artillery and the
Alexandria Battery, CSA will host a Civil War Reenactment on the grounds
of the old Air Force Base. Over 70 reenactors will set up camp, reenact
battles and for two days relive this stirring period of American
history. There will be tours of the encampments, a special dance
performance, and period items for sale.

The County's First Settlers: An Issue in Dispute, a program with David
Glenn
Who really were the first permanent European settlers in
Clinton County and where did they build? At least two towns lay claim to
having the first house. David Glenn will talk about the latest data that
has come to light and his analysis of the previous historic record.
